The beach of Quimixto on the South side of Puerto Vallarta is only accessible by boat, it offers optimum surfing conditions from October to about April. Quimixto is enjoyed by both local surfers and tourists who were lucky enough to find the spot. Quimixto is a fairly popular surfing spot in Puerto Vallarta area that can get crowded in the high season months.

Quimixto offers a quite exposed beach break with a consistent surf. Offshore winds are from the South. Groundswells are more frequent than windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the west southwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights.
